Goodbye Actually Happened

Well, July 1st came and it was time to move away from Notre Dame. Our fabulous friends, the Evans, provided us other two families breakfast (since we were both moved out of our apartments & had nothing). It was mainly to spend some more time together before the magical era of Notre Dame life ended.

We got a call from the airline during breakfast saying our flight was delayed about an hour and a half. Then we got another call saying it moved up a bit. Then a third call that it was bumped back even further than the first time. We had some time to kill:

When we got to the airport, about an hour before the final phone call given time (AND e-mail notices), the lady at the check in counter gave us a strange look. "...you're first checking IN for that flight? That's over with already..." Joe and I both freeze; then start in with our "What are you talking about?! We got official flight notices saying it was delayed to this time!"
She calls down to the gate to see what's going on. They're pretty sure that that one's already loaded and ready to go. Then this flight crew guy walks up in his orange vest and ear muffs and says, "Which flight? Oh, that one's gone already." One more phone call and the check in lady says they're still on the ground, but ready to go.
RUN!!!
And run we did! Luckily it's a small airport that will do things like this for us. We still can't believe that Delta can send you official notices about your flight time changing, but then the plane still leaves an hour earlier. Lesson learned? Tip? Even if your flight is delayed, get there at the original time, because they'll just leave whenever they feel like it.

Atlanta here we come!

I have always crazy stuff happen with Delta. I have had them not able to move my lugage from one plan to another when I had an hour lay over.
