Can you believe that after SEVEN MONTHS, the Wilmington (North Carolina) police pulled over the guy riding JOE'S MOPED and GOT IT BACK for us?! We got the phone call from the police at 1:00am & didn't know what to even say... we had no one there who could go pick it up!
Joe decided to call the bishop of the church we attended over the summer, and asked him if he could find someone who needed extra money (and wanted to do this), could go pick it up from impound, sell it for us on Craigs List (or whatever way they wanted), and we'd split the money. Someone at ward council said they would do it, and put their half of the money in their ward fast offerings. Very nice! Hopefully we'll have more than $50 bucks coming our way in the near future from this, to make back some of the $900 we lost. :) Good thing we held onto the original keys & vehicle ID certificate, "just in case..."!
